Dear Wyatt,
You are 4 months old today!
It's funny to think that this time last year I was pregnant with you, but didn't know it yet! I didn't find out until July 22nd, and by then they were estimating you to be about 5 weeks along.
On Tuesday was your Grandpa McKinney's birthday. After I got off work, AJ and I headed into town to spend the evening enjoying BBQ at his house.
Your Great-Aunt Diane loves you and gets irritated when we take you away from her when you start to fuss. It's mostly your Grandpa, though. As soon as you start to cry he goes over and plucks you up from whoever is holding you (even me!).
You had a great time, you were very interested in everything (your Grandma Lorrie calls you "nosy"). Your dad and I are trying to teach you how to blow raspberries. You were trying really hard, but you just couldn't get it out. But it is adorable to watch you try!
You spent the night with your Grandma Lorrie that night because you were passed out and we didn't want to drag you all the way back home. Besides, she had been preparing for your stay so we couldn't disappoint!
Yesterday was the 4th of July. AJ and I slept in since you were at Grandma's. It was weird to wake up at 5 AM and then just go ahead and go back to sleep. I was on call from 7 AM - 5 PM, so AJ and I stuck around the house. It's been 100+ degrees out lately so we didn't mind staying inside.
I tackled the closet I have been wanting to do since I was pregnant. Since you were occupied, I set to it and pulled out all the clothes I can't or won't wear anymore. 2 big boxes full! I see a garage sale in my near future.
After I got off call, AJ and I headed to town to pick you up. We took you over to Grandpa McKinney's again to eat leftover BBQ. Usually we spend the 4th at the Capital to watch the fireworks show, but since it started during your bedtime, AJ and I decided to opt out this year.
I was a little disappointed about missing the fireworks, but on the drive home we got to see several. When we got to our house, several nearby neighbors were setting off fireworks, and some of them were pretty amazing. We took you outside and you watched the fireworks. You didn't like the firecrackers though - you were really startled by those!
So in the end, it was a fantastic 4th and you got to see your first fireworks :)
And we kept you up past your bedtime *gasp!* but you eventually passed out for us around 11.
Love,
Momma
