1st Trimester - Adios!

Dear Lil Boop -

Tomorrow starts the second trimester and lemme tell you, I'm ready for it! I am already starting to feel better: less tired, less nauseated, less zits! However, I'm still getting headaches off and on and I'm still ready for bed by 10 PM. But hey, at least I am a little more functional now!

So the big things you are doing this week: your intestines have moved into your abdomen from the umbilical cord (awesome!) and you are making PEE! Exciting isn't it?

This past Friday your dad filled in and played kickball on the team from my work. They are called the Alcoballics. Every Friday night they get together at the fields, drink beer, and play kickball. This time, the team decided to dress up or wear funny wigs. AJ opted out, but it was so hilarious to watch!

The Alcoballics
Allie (an OR nurse in my pod who is due a month before me) and I go on beer runs for players and had to run the scoreboard this past time. Not as fun as playing, but I like watching them. And they won both of their games!

Yesterday was a girl from work's bridal shower. It was at The Rome downtown and Danielle (a nurse I know from the floor and in PACU) threw it. The food was delcious - I got cheese ravioli and meatballs and they were A-mazing! It was a lot of fun catching up with Danielle and watching Robin unwrap gifts! She got an awesome pan from That's My Pan and I am really wanting one now. Allie was there too and Danielle snapped a quick pic of us.

Allie and I (both preggers)
AJ and I went into Fulton later that night and picked up Lorrie and took her out to dinner at Sir Winston's. I actually ordered pasta again. Not as good as The Rome but I still ate the whole thing. I saw my highschool friend Cassie while we were there. She was there for a wedding reception in the banquet hall and we actually got to catch up for a couple minutes. I miss that girl.

We went to Wal-Mart because AJ and I needed to pick up a couple things. We walked by the baby section and were looking at car seats and bathtubs and whatnot. For some reason Lorrie kept touching all the boy stuff (a stuffed baby football toy, a blue blankie)- I asked her if she was Team Blue and she is ;) she says she has a gut feeling! We will see!

We went back to Lorrie's and visited and I think I eventually dozed off on the couch. I woke up when AJ's sister Melanie and her boyfriend Mike came home. My stomach was so bloated and I was so tired I don't think I was much company! Melanie is Team Blue too. I can't wait to find out...I can't believe we have to wait until November.

Today has been a lazy Sunday. It's been kind of dark outside all day and it's currently pouring down rain. I did the dishes and went through some more of my clothes that I don't wear anymore. I found 12 pairs of jeans that I haven't worn for years. They are still cute and in great condition, but they have gone through 2 moves and I am still not wearing them - so they are OUT.  Garage sale time. The soon-to-be nursery is home to boxes of clothes and junk I need to sell or get rid of.

Right now, AJ and I are making chili and it is making this house smell yummy. I also made banana bread. We've been lounging around the house watching movies on tv all day. The laundry is going now. The puppies are lounging around with us. I kind of like these lazy, rainy Sundays :)

Love,
