30 Weeks

Dear Wyatt,

You are 30 weeks old tomorrow and in one week you will be 7 months old.

You are so handsome and fun!

The other night I was lying in bed having trouble sleeping so I started going through pictures of you from newborn until now. I got a little choked up, I'm not going to lie. Time is just flying. I would say that I miss you being my newborn little boy, but you are so fun right now and showing so much personality that it makes it all worth it!

This week you are really into taking your toys out of a basket one by one. You can entertain yourself for a long time pulling each toy out, playing with it a while, then tossing it aside. It's funny to watch you "pick through" your toys and finally settle on one. It goes immediately into your mouth!

Tooth #3 came through! I found it yesterday. You were really fussy and gnawing on your rag like no one's business, so I put my finger in your mouth and sure enough! Your top right central incisor has popped on through. My baby has 3 teeth! I'm sure the top left one will be in soon as well because that is how it was on the bottom.

You are more interested in solids now. You are taking oatmeal off the spoon real well and enjoy sitting at the table with your mommy and daddy and having lunch or supper.

Also a big thing this week is that you are trying to crawl! You can move backwards and sideways, but you just can't figure out what to do with your legs when trying to go forward. It breaks my heart because I see how frustrated you are getting, but I know it'll be any day now that you figure it out and our house will be in a world of hurt!

On Friday night your dad had to go to Kansas City for a meeting for work with all the big-wigs, so it was just you and I. I know I shouldn't have done it, but I let you sleep in the bed with me. I couldn't help it! I was lonely and being in the big house alone has always scared me, but you didn't seem to mind. You and I played all day together and took a couple naps until your dad got home last night. You were happy to see him! After a bath and a bottle, you conked right out only to wake up at 2 AM. I put you in bed with us again and you slept til 7:30. I can't believe I did that two nights in a row. I am so afraid I have ruined your crib for you now! I guess only time will tell.

Right now your dad and you are cuddled up in bed taking a nap. It's been an hour and a half so far and I've gotten the dishes done, got a long hot shower in, and folded a load of laundry. We are supposed to go see Grandpa McKinney tonight because on Tuesday him and Shannon are going to HAWAII.

REALLY?!

But if there is one thing you need to know about your Grandpa it is this: he deserves a break. That man is the hardest working man I have ever known, and your dad reminds me a lot of him. They are both givers and always work their hardest to provide for their families. However, they sometimes need to be reminded that they need a break. So I'm very happy that my dad is going to experience Hawaii for the first time, even though I am very jealous!

Maybe some day we will go?

Love,
Momma
