27 Weeks

Dear Wyatt,

You are 27 Weeks Old this week!

A big milestone this week was turning 6 months old!!! Where has my little baby gone and how has it already been 6 months?!

So you know what that means? We took you to get your 6 month pictures taken. You got up around 7:30 AM, which is sleeping in for you. You'd gotten a bath the night before so we didn't have to worry about that. However, I thought you would at least take a little nap before we went to your noon appointment, but you had other plans! You were so tired and wouldn't nap or take a bottle no matter how many things I tried. While I was dressing you and you were screaming your head off all I could think was: oh my Lord this photo session isn't going to go well!

I imagined you with red rings below your eyes that you get when you are fighting sleep. I imagined you being  tired and fussing at the camera while I tried everything but stand on my head to get you to at least crack one smile. You took a 5 minute nap on the way there and lo and behold, we sat you down and you HAMMED IT UP!

Seriously. We were done in like 5 minutes. We got pics of you on your belly trying to life yourself up, pics of you on your back (which I didn't care for - you were looking at the camera girl like really? Does she know I can sit up?!) and then of course we got pictures of you sitting up and just cheesing away. I told her to stop taking pictures because I already had plenty to choose from.

I mean, c'mon. You are adorable!

After the pics, we strolled around the mall for a while. I am all about using coupons I get mailed to me to try out new fragrances at Bath and Body Works or a coupon for a free thing of this or that. I must cash it in! You decided to take a big poop while you and your dad were waiting on me in the store. Your dad and I wheeled you to the changing station at the mall (by the family restroom and the breastfeeding room) - and it was very nice! I enjoyed not being all crammed up in a womens bathroom on a skanky changing table that still feels dirty even after I wipe it down.

After the changing room experience, we picked up a couple Enfamils and Pampers cases at Target and headed home because the mall was getting packed with people checking out the mall before the Tigers game (which was against Georgia and ended badly...). You and I took a big nap while your dad went out and rode his motorcycle (tsk...tsk...). I love taking naps with you, it is one of my favorite things to do. I wake up before you usually and just watch you sleep. You are so beautiful, little one, but I know these times won't last forever, so I am trying to take advantage while I can.

You are already a big boy sleeping in your crib at night. You are putting everything in your mouth. You have one tooth popping through. You can push yourself up on your belly, roll from back to front, and are so grabby. I seriously have had to move my phone, the remote, and food wrappers out of your reach because you want your hands on EVERYTHING.

Yesterday was Grandparents Day and it was the first Grandparents Day for all of your grandparents since you are the first grandchild on both sides.

All of your grandparents love you. You have been such a blessing to this family. We spent the day at your Grandpa McKinney's (top right) and he BBQ'd for us and held onto you until we finally had to pull you away.

Love,
Momma
