You are 16 weeks old today!
You are a good time. You are really into looking at the world around you and tracking people and objects. You enjoy going on walks and getting around in your stroller. You weigh 19 lbs (even though the average for a 4 month old boy is a little over 15 lbs!) and are about 25" long. Everyone who sees you comments on you being a "big boy" or how laid back and happy you are (until you decide you are hungry, then you cry like mad and are very impatient!).
You constantly have something in your mouth, be it a bottle, your fist, or your spit-rag that you are grabbing onto and munching on now. I ordered you a Sophie Giraffe because I've heard great things from my momma friends. It hasn't come in the mail yet, but I hope you like it!
You aren't really interested in rolling over, you get about halfway there and then decide you'd rather look at mommy, your fist, or the TV. You are more interested in brain-rotting entertainment, like Looney Tunes or your daddy's phone. We still try to do tummy time every day, and you still absolutely hate it and wail like a banshee. You haven't found your feet yet, but I'm wondering if that's because your big ol' belly is in the way!
We took you to the big pool for the first time this past weekend. We met up with your Great Aunt Julie and 2nd-cousins Beau and Bryce ("The Twins"). The water was cold, but you let us put your feet in for a bit. I think you expected it to be warm like the bathtub! You were really just more interested in looking around at all the people and water. We didn't stay very long. I can't wait til you get older and start splashing around like a little fish!
When we got home you got a nice warm shower with your momma. We don't do showers too much anymore because you finally started having fun in your bathtub. Pretty soon I won't be able to hold you in the shower though, you'll be too heavy. But I love taking you in there because you love the water falling down. You stick your tongue out to taste it. You throw your head back into the water when I put your head under the spout. After a shower or bath, I put you on your changing pad to put lotion on you and you always squeal and coo, telling me how much fun it was?
We went to the mall to pick up your 3 month pics, and they turned out great. We've been handing them out to our family members. I also had to buy another photo album for all the pics still out of an album and am finally caught up with pictures (for now!).
I'm on the fence about bumping you up to 6-9 month clothes. Most of your 3-6 month clothes are getting too snug, and I'd rather you not be constricted. I put a box in your closet and marked it with "3-6 Month" and am tossing in outfits as you wear them because I'm pretty sure it's the last time you are going to be able to wear them.
You are getting so big so fast. It used to take you 40 minutes to drink 5 ounces of formula, now it takes you about 10 minutes. You are growing like a weed.
And in honor of your 4-month birthday coming up, you have a Polite Elephant named Ziggy coming in the mail :)
Love,
Momma

I've been doing the exact same thing with Evita's clothes. funny we both have mellow chunkers. And she LOVES looney tunes too. oh well. I remember watching plenty of it and turning out just fine. Mostly. I love that little face he has in the swimming picture. He looks like a mini football player! I like that leopard bathing suit below it too.
