15 Weeks

Dear Wyatt,

You are 15 Weeks this week and I think it's starting to sound weird to age you in that way, so I just tell people you are 3 months old. It feels like 4 months is just around the corner too.

You laughed out loud for the first time this past Saturday. You and I had been cooing and goo-ing at each other and you started to squeal like you've been doing, but then you busted into a big ol' laugh! Your daddy and I both laughed and I have been trying like hell to get you to do it again, to no avail. I cannot wait until it is a regular thing, because your smiles make my day as it is.

Also new this week: you are in Size 3 diapers. Which I just got told yesterday that a coworker's 10 month old was ALSO wearing...oh baby, you are going to be a big boy. You come from a family of tall, broad-shouldered men, and your momma is also ahead of the curve at 5'8.5. So we didn't expect you to be small, but I also never expected such a chunky-monkey baby! (But I LOVE it!)

You LOVE to eat, you are comforted by the bottle when you are fussy, but I can also tell that you are becoming less interested in it and more and more interested in your surroundings. Now, instead of crying for a bottle, you will suck on your fingers and fist and turn away from the bottle to stare at a wall sconce or the TV. Where did my little baby go?

From this...

To this!
I watch you learn something new every day or conquer a new feat every week. It's amazing to see and it makes my day to see you so excited about something new. I forget that EVERYTHING is new to you, every texture, every sight, every experience...You are brand-new, a clean slate, everything is from the beginning. It's pretty humbling that I will have a large part in showing you what this world is all about.

Your Great-Grandma Darlene and your Grandpa Steve still visit you every Wednesday or Thursday. Your Grandma T still watches you on Mondays and Tuesdays and Liz still watches you on Fridays. Your Grandma Betsy just started a new job but she pops in every other week or so. Your Grandpa McKinney comes to see you or we take you to him on the weekend. You are so loved, little baby.

You are the best thing...

And showing personality more than ever...

And learning and developing new interests every day...

And we are so blessed to have you.

Love,
Momma
