Letters to Wyatt: Baby Showers

Dear Wyatt,

This past weekend I had 2 baby showers thrown for your arrival.

On Saturday, Momma T threw me Baby Shower #1 at Agave. Several people came, both family and friends, including:

Agave serves Mexican food, so there were plenty of chips and salsa and everyone ordered a meal. Your momma was craving something covered in queso dip so I ordered chicken chimichangas! We played a couple games: a word search (Melanie won!) and Guess Jessica's Belly Girth (Jim won!). I unwrapped gifts and got a lot of amazing things for you. Melanie wrote down what everyone gave me so I can send out Thank You cards. We had cupcakes for dessert and everyone had a great time I think.

Baby Shower #2 was Sunday at 11 AM thrown at your Great-Grandma Darlene's house by your Grandma Betsy. There were several decorations and plenty of food:

Everyone ate and ate. There were all kinds of foods. After the food everyone had cake. After the cake it was present time! Again, you got several amazing things! My mom wrote down what everyone gave to me. Jaymie took lots of pictures of the shower. She is going to make me an album.

My dad (your grandpa) was to start working nights that night so imagine my surprise when he popped in to visit!

It was a great day and a great shower. We didn't play games because after all the food and presents everyone was pretty spent, myself included! It doesn't take much to exhaust me lately. I am pretty thankful she put me on bedrest even though it can be lonely and boring at times if I don't keep myself busy.

AJ took me home with all our gifts and we added them to the pile of gifts we had from the previous day's shower. Your daddy told me to sit down in the recliner because my feet were swelled up again and I was feeling very tired. So I listened and laid back in the recliner. You had been up in my ribs all day so I welcomed being able to lay back and put my arms above my head and stretch out while watching your daddy sort through everything:
