44 Weeks / 10 Months Old

Dear Wyatt,

You are 44 Weeks Old as of today and officially a 10 Month Old as of Saturday.

I cannot believe I have already started getting ideas rolling for your 1st Birthday Party. It's 2 months away!!! How did you grow so fast and where has this year gone?!

Is a first haircut in store soon?
I only worked Friday last week, so you and I got to spend a lot of time together these past 2 weeks. Well, this week the holidays are over and it is back to working on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday again. I so enjoyed spending time with you. I love our little "bubble".

So I wish I could say that we did a lot during all this time off. Well, the answer is we watched a lot of Spongebob Squarepants, did a lot of cuddling, and spent a lot of time indoors because it is absolutely frigid outside right now.

You and I have also been sick for about a week. Yes, your FIRST ILLNESS!!!

And I got it first and gave it to you, as I knew I would. I am a nurse so I am around sickness every day I work, so I feel like when I do get sick it is some Super Bug. Something just downright awful. It is crud. It is sore throat, runny nose, achy body, and nasty phlegm-y cough. And as I was going through it I felt absolutely awful, but what was worse was knowing that you would get it too.

And you did. Just a couple days later. And I have bought up everything in the store trying to alleviate your suffering. A humidifier to blow Vicks-infused menthol vapors while you sleep. Vicks baby. Johnson and Johnson vapor bath. Saline nose spray. Your appetite has gone down because you sometimes throw up because you are so choked up on phlegm. Your little nose is all red from running. You cry on me and all I can do is hold you. I pray you get better soon. I would opt to be sick for another month if it meant you could feel better.

So we have been cuddling a lot. And sleeping a lot.

I do love the cuddling. Especially now that you and I aren't napping in bed anymore. Why? Because on New Years Eve your daddy and I put you back into your crib and you have been sleeping there every night since! You fussed for a while when we put you in it for the first night (30 minutes, I timed it), but you have been ok with it since then. Even being sick you aren't waking up so often during the night. I guess you and I were waking each other up!

Anyway, I love you baby. And I hope you feel better soon and get back to normal.

Love,
Momma

  1. I think we're putting Eva in the crib as soon as it gets here too. I'm so bummed, but I really do think we'll both sleep better as well. :(
