18 Weeks

Dear Lil Boop,

This week you are 18 weeks along!

You are the size of a sweet potato.
And I've decided that sweet potatoes look rather disgusting.

By now you are yawning, hiccuping, sucking and swallowing. You are also twisting, rolling, punching, and kicking - but I can't feel anything yet. (...Anytime now!) Your ears are finally where they are supposed to be. Myelin is growing around your nerves. If you are a girl, you already have your uterus and fallopian tubes formed. If you are a boy, your genitals are noticeable by now. (So don't be shy on the November 9, Boop. I want to know what you are!)

The only changes I have noticed have been more pain and a stronger appetite. I am more achy all over. I mean, my feet are hurting, my shins are hurting, my low back is hurting, my abdomen is aching. I just feel sore. Like I just did a hardcore workout and it's the day after. I have made the decision that I don't own a pair of shoes now that make my feet feel good. Even the tops of them hurt!

As for the food, I'm not going crazy, but I can tell that I could devour much more if I had the option. :) Also, today I went up a size in scrub tops. It felt much, much better. I may try to go up a size in pants tomorrow, not sure. The ones I wear now definitely feel snug, but I don't want to be dealing with pants falling off my butt all day either!

AJ is working late tonight, so I'm just blogging and waiting for the World Series to come on. So ready to relax. Today I was in the DaVinci room in the OR, so it was a lot of learning since I'm never in there, and I am just exhausted even though I didn't do too much! I think I may just lay here and rest for a while.

Much Love,
