Dear Lil Boop,
It's Week 16 which means you are the size of an avocado!
Tiny bones are forming in your ears, which means you can start hearing me talk. You are also growing hair, lashes, and eyebrows. Let's hope you get your dad's eyelashes because mine are pretty darn sparse! You are also forming taste buds by now.
Second trimester has been a lot better than first trimester for me. So far I have noticed I am not as fatigued as I was those first 12 weeks. I have also noticed that my hair is thicker, my face has cleared up, and my skin actually looks pretty awesome. I am starting to look a little pregnant depending on what clothes I am wearing. Pretty soon I am going to have to move up to a bigger set of scrubs, I am having more and more difficulty getting the top over my boobs and pulling the pants past my butt. My belly button is stretched wide open now. I am still noticing the shortness of breath now and again. My nails are growing like crazy. People at work are teasing me about "pregnancy brain". I am a little off my game, I can't remember or pay attention to anything lately!
Maybe it's because I am too busy wondering if you are a boy or a girl, Boop. Or if I want to decorate your nursery with things like zoo animals or Winnie the Pooh. Worrying about childcare after I have you. Wondering what school you will go to. Wondering if the dogs will be jealous and isolate themselves when you come home at first. Wondering if you are going to have my little pig nose or a strong beak like AJ's. I get lost thinking about everything, but it's such a happy place to let my mind wander to.
I went to a doctor's appointment with Dr. W today. It was just a quick check-in. She asked me how I was doing, listened to your heartbeat with a Doppler (she said you sounded healthy in the 150's), and sent me on my way. I didn't have AJ go with me to this appointment, which I am glad, it lasted all of 5 minutes. In 4 weeks is the big 20 week ultrasound - I cannot wait!
I cleaned house like a mad woman today. I still didn't get everything done like I wanted. It sucks when you are cleaning you just keep finding more and more projects you want to do! Dad, Matt, and Steve came over because Steve was getting his windows tinted and Dad and Matt had called a guy to come look at our garage door (some springs need replacing before it falls apart and comes crashing down on my Acura one of these days!). We all ate at Pizza Hut and then went to pickup Steve's car. Dad and Matt just left not too long ago. We all fell asleep in the living room. :)
Lasagna is warming up in the oven and I have got the windows open because the outside air feels and smells so good to me. I love Fall.
Love,
