51 Weeks

Dear Wyatt,

You are 51 weeks this week, which means a week from today you will be turning 1 Year Old!

My plan was always to write to you every week until you were a year old. Some weeks it was really hard - some weeks I thought I would miss because I didn't have time. I'm glad I made time. I'm glad I fit it in. Because I constantly look back to this blog to find out how much you weighed at 6 months or when you first tried solid foods. I plan on printing this blog into a book to give you someday. It's like an extremely in-depth baby book (which I also have been keeping up on!).

This past week I went and saw Boyz II Men at Jesse Auditorium with Allie, Kari, Daley, and Danielle. We ate El Maguey beforehand. All of us are old hags except for Daley, so we were happy that the concert didn't end too late. Your daddy was on duty with you and I actually got to come home in time to rock you to sleep!

On Wednesday morning, your dad left for Springfield to catch a flight with his boss down to ATL. There was a big conference for the company your daddy works for and Thomas invited AJ to go with him this year since some day AJ plans on owning a branch of the business.

My mom came up to stay for a few days. The weather was forecasted to get very bad and I didn't want to spend 5 days alone with just me and you in case I needed any help. Before the storm started, we all went out to 63 Diner (your favorite spot!) and ate dinner. You helped mom with her Ham & Beans and me with my mashed potatoes. All 3 of us split a yummy piece of chocolate peanut butter pie. YUM!

THE SNOW

You watching Corey pack down our snow

Not so sure about this snow...(high maintenance)
The snow started Thursday morning and became deep very quickly. There was even lightning and thunder going on at the same time as the snow. You, me, and mom were stuck in the house. AJ informed me that it was 60 degrees and sunny down in ATL - jerk! It got bad enough here in Missouri that Corey had to come pick me up to take me to work on Friday and mom got snowed in and had to stay an extra day. Lucky for me she was there, because there was no way Momma T would have made it up to watch you Friday. No one was plowing our street and AJ had the 4WD parked down in Springfield.

By Saturday, mom was completely exhausted from helping me take care of you, so with a little help from Corey and a snow plow, mom was able to get down the street and get back home. I guess she missed you after she left though, because her, my grandma, and my cousin Rick all showed up later with groceries for us.

Saturday night it was just me and you. Everything was fine until it was time for me to get to bed. I couldn't sleep! I got wrapped up in reading a book and trying not to freak out about being alone in the house (I am such a coward!). I finally fell asleep and after an hour you woke up and were ready for a bottle and to come get in bed with me! I didn't care. It was just me and you and you are incredibly warm.

We caught you eating the Snickers that daddy had handed to you

New fascination to washing machines and dryers

Daddy finally got home Sunday evening. You smiled really big and didn't want him to put you down! You have been taking more and more steps lately and showed off your new moves to him. We were laughing at you and you were laughing right back!

Now we have gotten hit with snow again and it was bad enough this morning that you and your daddy had to take me to work. I got a kick out of seeing you this morning. You were looking out the window watching all the fools driving to work. :)

It was nice to see you this morning my (almost!) year old baby!

Love,
Momma
