Dear Wyatt,
You are 33 weeks tomorrow.
You are currently asleep on my lap passed out from our day today. Today we went to Peach Tree Farms to go to their pumpkin patch. Your dad and I had never been, so it was new to us as well. It was a very cute place. They had all sorts of critters for you to look at: different types of chickens, turkeys, goats, bunnies, puppies, pigs, ducks, and even catfish!
They offered hayrides, but we didn't participate since we had the stroller with us. We walked around the farm and looked at all the animals and pumpkins. We took several cute pictures and picked out your first pumpkin! I can't wait to take you when you are older, you are going to have such a blast!
Afterwards, we went out to eat and you weren't having it! You were tired after our time at the pumpkin patch. I offered you squash to eat (because squash is your new favorite food) and a taste of sweet tea and honey butter. You did okay for a while, but wouldn't let me finish my meal, so we asked for the check early and got a to-go box and headed home, where you ate 2 ounces from your bottle and immediately passed out. :)
So still no crawling this week, but you can scootch and shimmy around all over the floor like no body's business! You are wanting to spend less time in your jumper and more time going through your "treasure chest" of toys on the floor. You also like to get on your belly and practice lifting up. It breaks my heart when I see you get frustrated from trying to get the crawling thing figured out!
When you back up to something, like the chair, you can lift up a little better. Above is a picture I have of you trying to get up. You will lift your hips over and over again until you wear out, then you will pancake flat on the floor for a minute and then try all over again.
Liz is still watching you on Fridays and she is so in love with you. She texts me throughout the day telling me what you are upto. This past Friday she sent me of a video of you "growling", which you have been doing a lot of this week. It's like a growl/grunt you do over and over again. I think it's hilarious when you figure out new sounds and just keep trying them out! You still babble quite a bit and you do say "maaamaaaa" which I don't know if that means me or bottle. Or both?
Liz also commented to me about how much you enjoyed the squash at her house, and I told her I knew what she was talking about! You love it! You lunge for the spoon and try to grab it to feed yourself. You bang your hands on the tray and babble as if you are demanding to be fed more! The other night I couldn't feed you fast enough! I let you try to feed yourself, but you are so messy! Food ends up everywhere!
When your Great-Grandma came over this past week, she brought with her a little present:
Your first piece of jewelry! My Grandma has always bought the babies jewelry, I still have my bracelet from when I was a baby. The ring fits your chubby little finger perfectly. You wore it for a little while and then she took it off you so you wouldn't scratch yourself. It's a sweet little keepsake :)
Love,
Momma
