Dear Wyatt,
You are 23 weeks old this week.
You are such a happy little booger. You are rolling over more consistently now. I can't even put you on your activity mat and turn away without you rolling over instantly. I even got a good video of you doing a roll.
You are sitting up better now, but you still topple over after a bit. Its been fun towatch you play with toys and entertain yourself with your piano. You are going to be on the move before we know it. I have a feeling that once you start crawling or walking, you will be moving nonstop! That's when things are going to get really interesting.
You are so expressive now too. You have 1000's of faces a day and I love to capture them all. I got some great ones this past week.
It's been a slow process with learning to eat cereal. You aren't really a fan, so I tried giving you some sweet potatoes this past week. You didn't scrunch up your face like you did with the cereal, though. You didn't want to eat very much, and turned your head away. I put your in your high chair while I fix dinner and put a couple toys on your tray, but you were more interested in the frozen bag or corn and bag of tater tots than anything.
This past Friday, your dad and I took off work and got ready to head down to Eureka Springs for his oldest sister Melanie's wedding. We put you in the Johnny Jumper while we packed. You aren't really a fan, but you figured it out after a bit and entertained yourself long enough for us to finish getting ready.
Then we headed to Momma T's to drop you and Biscuit off.
Once you boys were dropped off, we headed down to Eureka Springs. To get there, we had to drive through our old stomping grounds in Springfield, MO, and swung by our old rental house your dad and I lived in our last 2 years of college. It looks like it is being taken care of.
It was never anything very fancy. It was old like most of the homes in inner Springfield close to the college. There were 2 bedrooms, one for us and one we used as an office/guest room. It had one bathroom. The floors were all wooden and were so cold in the winter time. We had a large fenced in backyard that Biscuit and Gravy would run around in while I would study. It had a one-car garage that housed your dad's CRX. I would park outside and he would go out in the morning and scrape my windshield in the winter.
We have plenty of good memories in Springfied, and sometimes I really miss it, but I'm not sure I would want to pull you away from all of your family.
After our quick stop in Springfield, we hit the road again and made it into Eureka Springs. We were surprised about how old and quaint the town was. When we were trying to find our Bed and Breakfast, it felt like we were driving through people's backyards, but it turned out that the town is packed with B&B's and cottages. Definitely a town targeted at older couples looking for a getaway and do do some antiquing.

Once we settled in, we headed to the Crescent Hotel where Melanie and Mike were staying and where the wedding was to be held. It was great because our B&B was about a 2 minute walk from the Crescent Hotel and it was gorgeous outside.
Apparently this place is haunted and has been on TV on one of those paranormal shows. There were ghost tours you could buy tickets to, and I'm sure it would have been very interesting/creepy, but we didn't have the time.
Melanie and Mike got married out by one of the fountains in one of the gardens. It was a gorgeous day and the flowers were blooming and it was just very...serene.
Once they were married, we went out to dinner at a place that I found on TripAdvisor that was in walking distance called Ermilio's.
Like everything we saw in Eurkea Springs, it looked older and as if someone just decided to turn their house into a restaurant. We had a bit of a wait because it is a popular spot, but there was a bar upstairs and we all had a drink and sat outside enjoying the weather.
After dinner, we went back to the Crescent Hotel and had drinks with Melanie and Mike outside on the patio of the Sky-Hi bar.
When we got back to our room, I was so tired I just crashed into the bed. I had no idea that your dad even tried out the Jacuzzi bathtub! When we woke up the next morning, the owner of the B&B made us breakfast and we got to eat outside on the veranda.
It was so good. I can see why people stay here. We picked it because it was one of the few places that offered 1-night stays and it was within walking distance of the Crescent, but it turns out this place has won several awards and was even featured in "O" magazine.
I just realized I never said the name. It was called Mount Victoria. Maybe when we are older we can go back and stay for longer, but as for right now I think the Holiday Inn is just fine too :)
After we left Eureka Springs, we headed back towards home. We stopped at the Lake to do some shopping and get a bite to eat. I found a place called Fish & Co that we had never tried before, and since I'm really into trying new things and being spontaneous lately, we decided to check it out. It was on the water and we got to eat outside and enjoy the weather again. Plus, the food was AWESOME! We shared Beef Nachos for our appetizer and I had a fish taco and your daddy had a pork tenderloin sandwich that was bigger than his hand!
When we made it to Momma T's I scooped you up and loved on you. I missed you so much and had looked at pictures of you and watched the video of you rolling over like 10 times while we were down in Arkansas. Silly momma, I know. So ridiculous!
It's good to be back home today. You and Biscuit have been napping from all the excitement of going to Momma T's I suppose. We went on a trip to Wal-Mart and had to stop in the shoe section to give you a bite to eat. You crazy thing, we had eaten before we left!
Love you baby!
Momma
