Lullaby for Wyatt

Not a big Sheryl Crow fan, but found this and thought it was super sweet.

Had a doctor's appointment with Dr. W today. She had them retake my blood pressure since I've been running in the 110s/60s and today I was 114/82. When the nurse took it again my diastolic was down to 76. That seemed to appease Dr. W. I did tell them that I did yoga this morning, which I usually don't get to go because I have been having appointments during yoga.

She told me yoga was great and it would help me a lot with labor. She told me my weight gain is still going great - it isn't to me, though. I got on the scale this morning and it's been a month and I sort of knew what it was going to say but I wasn't completely  prepared to believe it. It's hard being called a "big girl" or a "full sized girl" your entire life and then to pack on weight. Oh well, all I can do is try and be careful and healthy.

I told her about the pain in my butt cheeks that shoots down my legs after work some days and she of course wasn't concerned since it's normal in pregnancy and I of course acted like it was no big deal since I haven't had it bad since last week. I'm bad about that, I always make my problems sound minimal to doctors. At the same time, I am a nurse and I do educate myself and I understand that some things just aren't serious! I'm the type of woman that will be having a heart attack and say to the doctor, "Nope, I'm okay. Just a little uncomfortable!"

I got to listen to your heartbeat - Dr. W told me it was in the 150's. It made me smile to hear it. I go back to see her in a month. I have to drink a glucose drink and then get my blood drawn an hour later to test for gestational diabetes. And since my blood type is A- I also have to get a RhoGAM shot in my butt. I have already experienced that this past June, so I remember what it felt like, and that it hurt really bad. I'm not a wuss with needles. They don't bother me, but DAMN that RhoGAM sting I can't forget!

After the next appointment (on 1/4/2012) , I start going to see her every 2 weeks because I will be in the 3rd trimester. I cannot believe it! Time is certainly flying.

I called and got AJ and I registered for the Childbirth in a Day class that is offered at the hospital. We go in February since they said to get it done a month before your due date. Allie and her husband are going in January so I hope she gives me a heads up on if it is a good class or not! AJ and I need all the help we can get, Wyatt. We've got the loving you part down, but as for the rest, we have no idea what we are getting into. It's gonna be a wild ride, that's for sure!

Love,
