This week marks 22 weeks along - making you the size of a papaya!
You are 11" long and about a pound in weight. You have more developed features, like eyes, eyebrows, and lips, and are looking like a mini newborn. Your eyes are still fused shut and your irises still have no pigment. Your hair also still has no pigment. You are also sleeping in cycles - about 12-14 hours a day.
Momma is feeling the growth - my back has been aching badly these past couple weeks. Last Thursday evening I spent 3 hours on a heating pad and a half hour in a steaming hot shower before I could stand up straight and walk like a normal person again. Momma's also having more difficulty breathing. More than once AJ has stopped me to let me know I'm breathing like a kid at fat camp. Still no stretch marks, but there is no hiding this big belly now.
I love being pregnant - backaches, acne, random black belly hairs and all. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I still feel like you are a little miracle, Boop. Someday you will ask me about the rosebush in the backyard - why is there a fence around it? What does the stone mean? Someday I'll be able to tell you, maybe I'll be able to write it to you. Just know that it may not be easy - it's still hard. Your momma was in a very sad, very dark place this past summer. Then you came along - a ray of sunshine in the darkness, and you saved me. Every time I try to tell the story of what happened I cry, even now I wipe away tears - it was the saddest thing I have ever experienced, but you are my saving grace, Boop. You were meant to happen. God brings us to it and gets us through it.
Yesterday we shared your name publicly, Mr.
WYATT J. TERRELL!!!!
Your dad and I went back and forth about your middle name until I realized how much it meant to him, so I finally caved and let him have it. Just "J". Just like your daddy. And I must admit, "Wyatt J." does have a nice ring to it (yes, I've practiced saying it AND yelling it out loud!). And I can tell it makes your daddy proud. :) And why "Wyatt"? Well, besides being super-adorable, it was also the name your dad and I kept agreeing on and coming back to, until it finally stuck.
We got to work on the nursery this past weekend. We bought paint at home depot (with satin finish - because it is the easiest to clean crayon off of!) and got the periwinkle color covered with a green to match the accents on your bedding. It looks fantastic!
