WE HAVE HIT THE 3RD AND FINAL TRIMESTER!!!
Right now you are just getting fat and happy, my little eggplant! If you were born right now you would probably be able to survive (with help!) due to your lungs being mature enough. Although, we aren't quite ready for you just yet - go ahead and hang out for a while longer! I can't believe in 12 short weeks I'm going to be holding you in my arms.
You are opening your eyes now and turning away from bright lights (like when your daddy is being ornery and sticks a flashlight against my belly!). Your eyes also have color to them now (like gray or blue) - it may not be the color you ultimately end up with. I just read that the color of a baby's eyes finally settle on a color 9 months after the baby is born - weird! AJ has hazel eyes so he thinks he is special. Your momma has shit brown eyes. Get excited, baby.
There is still much to be done - we need to have our baby showers, get a stroller and car seat, get our maternity pictures (AKA fatty cow pictures) taken, I need to pick out a breast pump (we will TRY this breastfeeding thing)...I need to get in contact with the short term disability people and FMLA with work (momma needs to get paid and not get fired when she leaves for a few months)...Hell, I get overwhelmed with thinking about all I still need to do, so much so that it usually requires me to take a nap to think on things. :)

| Baby Shower for Work Daley and Kari are throwing Allie and I a shower |
Sleep is pretty crappy due to heartburn, insomnia, leg cramps, a big ol' belly, and your daddy sticking his elbow into my shoulder blades - but I hear it is supposed to get worse. I'm feeling Braxton Hicks contractions every once in a while. Apparently I may be producing colostrum at this point - nom nom baby food! I am also feeling you move around a lot. Yesterday you were really doing some big movements in there - even your daddy was impressed at how strong you've gotten!
Saturday was New Years Eve and your momma was on call. We got called into work for a case every 2 hours for a total of 3 cases. On one particular trip, the patient's nurse didn't know her patient was even coming down for surgery, so Jenna and I had to sit around for a couple hours and wait for a gallbladder to show up. It's good money, but damn does it wear you down to keep driving back to work. I was going to be short on hours this paycheck, but thanks to call I actually am pulling off overtime. So it works out.
AJ and I shared a kiss at 11:00 after watching the ball drop on TV. Then he kissed my belly, giving you a Happy New Years kiss. I was in bed before midnight, completely exhausted. I don't remember the last New Years that your daddy and I weren't drinking or having a party or going out on the town. I guess this is an indication of the changing times. It's okay though, we are ready for it.
Today I took off from work (as did a lot of my coworkers) since the schedule was so light from it being New Years Day yesterday. Daley, Kari, Kari's daughter Lanie, Allie (& Lilly!), and I went to eat lunch at Murry's. It was delicious! I ordered a hot ham and cheese, fries, and even got dessert - peach and raspberry crisp. I ate every bite. So good.
This Wednesday I go see Dr. W and start going to see her once every 2 weeks. This coming appointment I have to drink a nasty lemon-lime glucose drink so they can test me for gestational diabetes. I also am getting my RhoGAM shot since I am Rh negative. Me being Rh negative doesn't affect you in any way, but it does help protect any future bambinos your daddy and I decide to have. I remember it hurting when I got it last June, but your momma is one tough cookie so don't you worry baby Boop! If momma can withstand a Brazilian, momma can withstand anything...TMI? (Your mother has no filter, sorry for the future embarrassment I cause you...)
Love,
