Today was the 2nd Ultrasound.
You are estimated 6 weeks, 2 days. Your heart rate was 115. Everything looked great.
I saw you on the screen and a laugh popped out of my mouth. The woman thought I was crying so she handed me a Kleenex. She took measurements of you and looked at my cervix and ovaries, taking measurements of those as well. I realized I had my mouth hanging wide open so I went ahead and finally closed it. Ovaries are not as exciting as seeing a small heart beat on the screen.
The Estimated Due Date (EDD) is March 26th.
I got weighed, got my height measured, got my blood pressure and heart rate taken. I had to have a Pap Smear (ugh...). AJ and I answered questions about our family history. I have to go see a cardiologist due to the Ventricular Septal Defect (just 2 small holes I was born with that have never caused any problems...except me forgetting to take 4 horse-pill antibiotics before getting my teeth cleaned and the hygenist rolling her eyes at me a few times!).
Our next appointment is August 31st, so 4 weeks have to pass, then hopefully we can hear the heartbeat. You'll be 10 weeks so she said it will be hard to do, so we may have to do another transvaginal ultrasound. I believe she said we would also be taking blood and doing another ultrasound to screen for Down Syndrome. I hate thinking about anything being wrong.
AJ and I went ahead and announced our pregnancy, even know it is still very early. We both have a really good feeling about this and wanted to spread some good news! :)
